heather walker2Heather Walker became the Deputy Tax Commissioner in June of 2018. With a focus on excellent customer service and streamlining the internal processes of the Tax Commissioner's Office, her goal is to improve taxpayer's experiences within our offices.

Heather began her career with the Cobb County Tax Commissioner's Office in 2007 as a frontline operator in the Motor Vehicle Division. Being a dedicated and conscientious team member, she held other positions including Tax Specialist II and III. She became a Branch Manager in 2015, was selected as a member of the Senior Tax Management Team in 2016, and with the retirement of Michele McDuffie,  who served as Chief Deputy for four years, Mrs. Walker was appointed as Chief Deputy.

Heather holds a Master's in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Shorter University. She is a member of the Sigma Beta Delta honor society, a 2017 graduate of the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government EXCEL program, a Certified Business Golfer with Golf Women Mean Business (GWMB), a strong advocate for Shriners Hospitals for Children and avid supporter of MUST Ministries. Her most influential words of wisdom are from Author, Maya Angelou -- "Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better."
